Russia-specific checks. Clinical years are hospital-heavy in Russian. Winters are severe outside the south (plan −15°C to −30°C for Siberia). Banking and routing can be slower in some years. Crimea is a disputed territory — extra travel, insurance and recognition diligence. “WHO approved” is marketing; WHO does not approve colleges for Indian licensing.
Frequently asked questions — MBBS in Russia
Yes. Indian and OCI students who intend to practise in India must qualify NEET-UG in the relevant year. NMC treats the NEET result as the eligibility certificate, provided Graduate Medical Education eligibility is also met.
Kazan State Medical University lists English-medium General Medicine at 636,000 RUB per year on kazangmu.ru — about ₹6.0 lakh at a planning rate of ₹85 per USD. Other faculties must be confirmed on the rectorate invoice. Do not treat agent “from ₹18 lakh” totals as a gazette fee.
Many universities offer an English-medium General Medicine track for international students. Russian is still required on the wards. NMC requires the degree’s medium of instruction to be English — confirm that in writing with the university.
A Russian student visa, issued after the university sends an official invitation. File through the Russian visa channel in India. HIV-related medical certificates have historically been requested — confirm the current consular checklist. Russia is not visa-free for this course.
The specialist programme in General Medicine (code 31.05.01, лечебное дело) is typically six years of full-time study. For NMC FMGL 2021 you need at least 54 months of the degree plus 12 months of internship at the same institution.
Crimea is a disputed territory. Travel, banking, insurance and third-country recognition can differ from mainland Russian cities. Treat it as a high-diligence choice and get written confirmation on FMGL, WDOMS listing and travel documents before you commit.
